The gas detector, depending on the model, signals methane gas or LPG gas leaks when the gas concentration in the environment where it is installed exceeds the alarm threshold. The detector is powered by the mains voltage and is equipped with an output, controlled by a relay, to which it is possible to connect a manual reset solenoid valve3), to interrupt the gas flow in the event of an alarm. 1) Methane gas detector – code DTS4301 2) LPG gas detector – code DTS4302 3) Devices produced by third parties. The device is equipped with a radio interface and can send, via the control unit, alarm messages to programmed mobile and landline phones. If correctly installed, in the event of an alarm the detector: 1 signals the presence of gas through light and acoustic signals and by sending alarm messages to predefined phones; 2 if the alarm continues for more than 30 seconds, it activates the relay that controls the solenoid valve and interrupts the flow of gas For this function to be effective: • a manually reset solenoid valve must be installed in the gas system; • the solenoid valve must interrupt the main flow of gas and therefore be positioned after the methane gas meter or the LPG gas tank and before any gas supply pipe entering the home; • the solenoid valve must be positioned outside the home and not in an internal room The solenoid valve must therefore not be installed when the gas is taken from a cylinder stored inside the home, because the action of the solenoid valve would not be completely effective and a false sense of security would be generated The expected life of the appliance in use is 4 years Upon expiry, indicated on the label affixed to the device, consult the supplier for replacement
