Egeo was created in 1971 to illuminate port docks. It is made of thick, earth-cast aluminum with large visible bolts and screws. It is anchored to the ground to withstand waves. It has an unusual shape, is compact, square, and essential with a 45° light outlet. Over time, it has undergone significant functional and constructional revisions, which however do not alter the initial design. Today, it is made of sturdy die-cast aluminum, with a practical and quick snap hook that has replaced the bolts. Modern miniaturized lamps allow it to achieve significant lighting performance. The initial charm of Egeo has remained intact and, despite numerous imitations, it remains a successful classic to this day.
